Lightbrigade

Light Brigade by Peter J. Tomasi and Peter Snejbjerg.
Found this gem of a book in a stand of second-hand magazines.I started reading it and couldn't drop it until I reached the last page —and then re-read it again the next day.The plot is as simple as showing there's a war between angels a demons...that tale has been told too many times in fiction and it's a bit predictable but in this case the story goes a step further by trying to explore what's the true meaning of dignity, bravery, friendship, trust and hope and how come things like that are actually opposed to evil because they're correct not simply because it's said that they're good.
Yes,there are avenging angels, immortal warriors and armies of zombies running everywhere but in the end this comic is mostly about human soldiers and the narrative is clearly inspired by classic war comics of the '50s and '60s.Since I'm a sucker of retro stuff I guess that's what I liked the most. That and the accurate historic elements that many other writers and creatives usually don't pay much atention to.
Really,even if you don't like WWII stories,give this comic a chance.Sure you'll have a good time.
